Azaz Circle : Honouring Strength, Creating Connection

Azaz Circle is a free, biweekly outdoor seniors group created in honour of my grandfather, who lived a full life to 100. His name, Azaz, means strength; and he embodied that through his presence, his stories, and the simple moments of connection we shared.

I like to believe I was his favourite, maybe because I showed up with my “psychotherapy skills”: listening without rushing, offering unconditional care, and simply being present with him.

Spending time with him showed me how powerful it is to feel seen, heard, and connected, especially in later years.

Through Azaz Circle, I hope to bring that same warmth into our community. Each session includes light activities, gentle grounding techniques, and opportunities to connect with others from different walks of life, whether through stories, laughter, short walks, or simply sitting together.
